The Paleo Diet is a lifestyle based on what the cavemen ate. I always consider it a “lifestyle” as opposed to a “diet” because I feel like that sets me up for disaster! This simulates what came before factories, & processing & extra sugars & packages! Paleo is about eating whole foods found in nature or the wild. Granted, we have a lot more technology, & advances today (ex. stoves, supermarkets, refrigerators, etc) so it’s not entirely the same. & I do purchase certain things in a package or can…(nut flours, coconut milk, etc.) These are foods that are full of nutrients, good fats & healthy components. They do not possess a long list of ingredients, most of which we cannot pronounce. When we remove certain foods that were not found in the diets of our ancestors, we reduce the risks of a lot of common illnesses, and diseases that inflict a lot of our population. These risks include: cancer, diabetes, obesity, heart problems, brain problems, autoimmune disorders…& the list goes on. On the bright side, by removing such products & “foods” we will find that we feel better, sleep better, our skin looks better, our energy is booming, our recovery is better & our overall well-being is improved! I am including a very casual basic list of what you can and cannot eat as part of the Paleo Diet, but each item has its own list of do’s & don’ts which I didn’t go into. These are just the basics!!
